We love finding super cool ‘off the beaten track’ vintage watches and this vintage Longines is such an unusual piece – think Grima Omega’s or Pierre Cardin JLCs and you’re in the same ballpark.
Serge Manzon began his career as a diamond seller and film producer. Later he designed furniture, jewellery, watches, clothing and a range of fashion accessories. He is completely self-taught in terms of acquiring his design knowledge. In 1973, at the Basel Fair, Longines presented the “Serge Manzon Collection”, comprising different wristwatches in silver.
This watch is what we believe to be the biggest in the Manzon collection. The case is in the form of a buckle and is made in sterling silver, measuring 55 x 39mm. The watch has a winding crown at the top and houses the manual wind Longines cal 7601 movement. The watch has a mirror black dial with no lume hands. This rare Longines even has its original strap with silver tip…this is a really cool piece. The movement has been fully checked and regulated by our watch maker.
When we get unusual pieces like this, they sell quickly, so get in touch and let’s do a deal!
